Dalycom Seminar: Attract, Delegate & Succeed

In Blog, Dalycom News, In The Cloud

We hosted our first seminar yesterday morning, where our MD, Amanda Daly spoke about the next generation of employees and how they will expect to work.

We also had Ed Wright from Shakespeare Martineau as a guest speaker to discuss what relevance GDPR would have for these new ways of working.

7 in 10 business owners are struggling with stress and 52% of leaders cannot detach from their job

With these statistics in mind, Amanda discussed how making sure you have the right team with the “right seats on the bus” can help business owners get a better work/life balance.

As a business owner it can be hard to let go, but taking the time to ensure you recruit the right people, delegate and use the wealth of technology available now to help you put dashboards in place, so you can monitor productivity when you’re not there, it is possible!

Millennials will make up 35% of the population by 2020 and 72% of women are now in paid employment.

Amanda also discussed how it was important to recognise the number of Milennials and Women coming into the workplace. Millennials will make up a good chunk of the workforce and they have a very different outlook to the baby boomer generation who are the employers of today.

Millennials have grown up with technology and so expect to use this as part of their job. They’re also very much into making sure they have a work/life balance so will look for ways to work flexibly and collaboratively with their managers and colleagues. As employers, this way of working needs to be recognised and facilitated if we want to get the best out of them for your business.

Likewise, women in employment are now much more savvy with new technology with many requesting flexible working hours around their children or choosing to work from home. Again, we need to be able to provide the required technology to facilitate this sector.

All of this talk of getting the right technology in place might sound daunting and expensive, but with Cloud technology it’s really manageable for businesses of all sizes.

If you are interested in any of the topics discussed, or would like to discuss the technology you have in place, we are offering a complementary discovery call with Amanda so contact us today if you want to make sure you’re ready for the next generation!
